Loonie Stampers Challenge #62 (and a goof!)

Hi there!  Jewels picked a gorgeous color combo for this week but I goofed on my first card.  I had the colors right but not the theme...thought it was wedding for some reason!  Luckily I had something in my stash that fits the theme and only cheats a bit on the colors (second card).

Yep - second card is spring rain and black instead of aqua mist and chocolate...but hey.  It was a good save for being 6 in the morning!  Sorry I'm not feeling chatty...I've been ill all week and even stayed home from work yesterday.  I haven't been able to stay awake and I haven't blurfed much, managed my email or crafted all week.  Icky poo!  I'm the worst online friend EVER!  All I want to do is run back upstairs and jump into bed again.  But who am I kidding?  I don't run!

Snow Day Wishes

 Hello!  Hope you're doing well.  I know it's a little early in the school year to be wishing for a snow day...and yet it's on my mind.  What can I say?  So I dug through my stash of stamps and came up with this cute Gina K snowman.  I kept it simple by using black ink on going gray stock and added some sparkle by coloring the accents with stardust and glitter markers.  A cuttlebugged background, some SU ribbon and a tiny Cuttlebug tag round out the details. 

And I'll have a surprise for you tomorrow.  I'm working on it now and I just hope I finish in time!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ok...so this was not supposed to be today's entry.  I was really set on posting something using pearl-ex powders.  Something bright and cheery.  And if I liked any of the five cards currently sitting in my trash can you wouldn't be seeing this right now!   I'd call this the card version of a 'b movie'.  The design is good, but the execution...eh.  Hopefully you get the idea and are in a forgiving mood.
This is - of course - the matching bra to the panties from yesterday's entry.  I went all Papertrey on you again (cardstocks, designer paper, ribbon) but I did sneak in some SU! inks and my new silver Spica glitter marker.  All of my bras look like this...don't yours?  Kidding.  After stamping the image in soft sky ink I used my aquapainter and my soft sky reinker to watercolor the bras.  Then I used my silver Spica glitter marker to add some snazziness to the polka dots.  Eh.  I think I should have used my black Spica marker.  There's always tomorrow...

Speaking of tomorrow, I was inspired by Beate to create some cards to send to soldiers serving in Iraq.  We have a club at school called 'Support Our Soldiers' and I asked the moderator if the kids would be interested in making Mother's Day cards to send for the soldiers to sign and mail to their mothers. Not surprisingly the kids were excited about doing this.  Tomorrow is the day we make the cards!  I'd better go make sure all of my supplies are ready.

Things You Wish You Could Say

You know you've wanted to say this to someone at some point in time.  Don't deny it!  Well now thanks to Langley Boy via  Gina K Designs you can just mail it to someone! 
I had a blast making this card.  The base and focal piece are Papertrey white, and the colored/patterned paper is Basic Grey's Two Scoops.  I stamped the images and sentiment in basic black and then colored using my SU! markers.  To add some pep I colored over the polka dots with my silver Spica glitter pen.  I cut and embossed the focal piece and the mat using my small rectangle Nestabilities and then wrapped the piece in some American Crafts satin ribbon.  Done!

ps - the homemade Primas aren't going well...yet.  I need to get the 10 petal punches like Valita suggested.  I'll keep working on it and check back with you.
