Card deets:  everything's obvious except the scalloped edge...it's actually the bottom of the front of the card and I lined the inside with the blue paper for contrast.  Wendy uses edge punches so much that I thought her birthday card wouldn't be complete without one!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #107: Rainbows

Hi there:)  It's Friday again and time for the latest LSC...this week was Dee's pick and she went all sunshiny happy on us by picking rainbows.  Is she a happy expectant mom or what?!?  Now she did say that we didn't actually have to use a rainbow...just a rainbow of colors.  Pfft!  Go big or go home, I say!  So I grabbed a pen and drew my own.   I'm laughing because I feel an overwhelming need to send this card to my mom...I drew a rainbow, colored with markers and used glue and glitter.  The only thing missing is a stick figure diagram of our family and a note from my kindergarten teacher!!!

Loonie Stampers Challenge #105

Hi there!  Happy Friday to you:)  And holy overcast morning!  Who ordered the rainy day?!?  Probably my tomato plants...I think I saw them dancing out in the yard this morning.  So how was your week?   It has been a little dog-centric here...Sloane was spayed and Deuce had another bad allergic reaction to (best guess) a spider bite.  And while we've made some progress, Sloane's separation anxiety is still in full effect.  *yikes*  

Check out this week's colors - Char picked this happy bunch.  And I did not cheat!!!  But I did have a fun time shopping my stash for items to use.  Remember these little Prima flowers?  I have sooo many more on my shelf waiting to be used.  What was I thinking?!?

Hi there!  Hope you're doing well on this hot and humid Friday:)  Jewels picked this week's colors and yes, I cheated again!  I went with a different shade of blue, but hopefully Jewels will be ok with it because see the cupcake?  That was part of the little gift set that she gave to each of us Loonies.  (I can rationalize anything!)

Loonie Stampers Challenge #103

 
Hi there:)  Yep - I went another whole week without posting!  Time is just flying by this summer.  I had all of these intentions to spend the entire time in my craft room...and instead I'm watching Food Network and getting creative in the kitchen.  Would you believe I was able to get my husband to eat fennel and orange salad?!?  We're talking a meatloaf and mashed potatoes kind of guy here.  Oh the progress! 

This week was Wendy's pick and at first I was thinking 'eh...what?' but then I started playing around and it was so much fun!  And so perfect for a gender-neutral baby card.  I went with October Afternoon paper as my text and lightly hit the edges with some distress ink.

Hi there!  It's LSC time again and this week was my pick...and yes, I cheated again.  I pulled a 'Char' and decided that I didn't like the shade of green I originally picked.  Ha!  Check out that strawberry...Jewels brought those and other felt cuties to our Loonie vacation and gave each of us a bunch.  I must have strawberries on my mind...I baked a peach and strawberry pie the other night.  Yum.

A Martini For Any Situation

Hi there:)  Hope you're doing well.  We're having bee-u-tiful weather here today so I voluntarily took a walk.  With the dogs, of course.  But still...I took a walk because I wanted to.  That makes me happy.  And I managed to get in the craft room for a few minutes (still using glossy accents!) to create a very simple gift set.  Well, I thought I was creating a gift set but what I really did was prove that there is a martini for any situation.  The proof:

Owl Friend and My Husband Is Sleeping With a Bit@h From Finland

Hi there!  Hmm...wonder if that post title caught your eye?  All in due time, my friends.  As you can tell from my lack of posting, I haven't been doing a whole lot of paper crafting lately...we've been on vacation together.   However, I did need a thank you card for a friend and came up with this simple one. 
I've been all about the glossy accents lately.  And I picked up the owl stamp while at the actual Bella store...still a bit of a thrill for me.  Well I guess that's about it...

What?  Were you expecting something else?  Oh right!  The bit@h from Finland!   She's long and lean and her hair is dark and glossy...and she has gorgeous brown eyes.  I know!  You thought it was me until I said brown eyes.  Here's Sloane, our newest addition:
I don't advocate transporting dogs long distances for adoption.  However, a number of years ago an Italian Greyhound breeder from Finland purchased a female puppy from a breeder near us in Pennsylvania (Deuce's breeder) and part of the fee was cash and the other part was for a female progeny of the female puppy being purchased.  Flash forward five years and this little girl was scheduled to fly in from Finland as final payment (not as cargo thank goodness!  she was in the cabin under the gentleman's seat)...but the Pennsylvania breeder had already retired and moved to the west coast.  So the retired breeder called us and asked if we would be interested in adopting her and welcoming her into our home. She thought that Deuce would be the perfect big brother for this puppy.  Pfft.  Of course we said yes!  She flew in the night before last and she was a sweetheart right from the start.  She and Deuce are getting along well...better than anticipated.  And for the past two nights Sloane has been sleeping cuddled up to my husband.  See, my husband is sleeping with a bit@h from Finland!   And I'm a little jealous:)  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cougars On The Move At A Theatre Near You

Hello there:)  It's day number two of our 2010 Loonie Gathering and today is THE day.  We Loonies will reveal ourselves to be the cougars that we are and descend upon an unsuspecting movie theatre.  Watch out Waterloo!  The Loonies are here to see Eclipse together!!!  And I have no worries because I already asked my Canadian friends the most important question I had surrounding the theatre.  Oh yes, Canada has Junior Mints.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Loonie, Relocated.

Hi there:)  I've scheduled the rest of this week's posts in advance (Kristen...are you impressed?) because our 2010 Loonie Gathering has commenced!  By the time this post goes live I'll already be across the border and likely shopping for toiletries or napping in the airport.  Today's card features some daisies that Wendy sent to me...seemed appropriate to use a gift from a Loonie right about now.  I'm not sure what today's planned activities are...I think today's goal is just to get everyone to the retreat house and have dinner and maybe a few beverages.  Considering I've been too excited to sleep for the past two nights I don't think I'll make it much past dinner!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Going in Circles

Hi there!  Hope you're doing well.  We had a great weekend...rested, saw family and friends...all of the good things.  And I cleaned my craft table.  Guess what I found?  My mojo!  I'm so excited!  Yesterday I made six cards.  Six!  And I only stopped because I was sleepy and had to go to bed.  I also found these cool foam dots...apparently I have them in 1mm and 2mm depths, so I used them both on this card for a  
bit of a church carnival feel.  I was picturing that kiddie coaster ride that has some of the little airplanes go up in the air while the little boats stay lower to the ground and vice versa.  I went to so many church carnivals last  year and this year I haven't been to any...yet.  There's one coming up next month that I'm not going to miss.  Of course, what makes it more fun is borrowing the nieces and nephews so we'll see what happens:)  And now I'm off to work - I love the summer hours schedule!  Thanks so much for stopping by:)
